Prof. Bernard Sesboüé SJ est un spécialiste de réputation internationale et un passioné de l`œcuménisme. Il a enseigné la théologie (patristique et dogmatique) pendant plus que quarante ans aux Facultés jésuites de Lyon et de Paris-Centre Sèvres. Entre autre, il a fait partie de la Commission Théologique Internationale et il est consulteur au Conseil Pontifical pour la promotion de l’unité des Chrétiens.

Prof. Bernard Sesboüé SJ is an outstanding theologian and an internationally reknowned expert on ecumenism. More than 40 years he taught theology (patristics and dogmatic theology) at the Jesuit faculties of Lyon and the Centre Sèvres-Paris. He was member of the International Theological Commission and he is advisor to the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

Le 11/10/2014 – Symposium : Going to War. Nationalism, martyrdom and religion in Europe.

Until recently the catastrophe that overtook Europe in 1914 seemed remote. Now we are less sure. What can Europeans learn from the experience of an earlier generation ?

This symposium will reflect on the mix of nationalism, religion and the secular that surround the First World War. 100 years after that conflict devoured the youth of Europe, destroyed much of its fabric and transformed its structures, eminent academics will lead a reflection on the lessons for our time.
